Fun things to do in The Netherlands – Dutch Countryside and Beyond

Travel and Food

Let me take you on tour through the real Netherlands and help you experience the true essence of Dutch culture for yourself.

So what does a girl do with a week in The Netherlands – well she walks, she watches, she shops, she eats, she keeps it simple. The Netherlands is one of those countries that doesn’t really require an itinerary- just being there is fun enough. So I’ll simply leave you with this video and 5 must do’s (at the end of the video).

Happy Holidays

Hop-On Hop-Off – Best of Hamburg Sightseeing

Travel and Food

I did a” hop on hop off ” tour in Hamburg, this Saturday. 😎 It was my solo day out, and I just wanted to be shuttled around and see the sites from a great Double Decker bus in perfect weather. 🚌

I do Hop on Hop off trips in almost all cities I visit because you get to see places you might want to revisit later on your own, or if nothing else, you just enjoy the perfect weather while someone else is driving – definitely a must for first timers or if you are not familiar with the city.

Here are some of the highlights from this trip.

The Line A sightseeing tour leads you through Hamburg’s highlights: along the Speicherstadt (warehouse city) and harbor city to the shopping areas of the town! You get to experience the wonderful villas in Harvestehude, the Outer Alster lake, the city hall, several museums, the famous Reeperbahn and the harbor.

Your day ticket enables you to hop on and hop off at 29 bus stops. All Red Double Decker bus tours are fully escorted and narrated by licensed Hamburg tour guides in German.

In addition, a GPS steered audio system offers 9 other languages via headsets: English, French, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Danish, Japanese, Chinese and Arabic. Lean back and enjoy the all-round view. In nice weather, the bus goes open top!
